Shipping Policy

1. Where we ship

We ship to street addresses within the United States. We do not currently ship outside the United States, and we do not ship to freight forwarders.

We can ship to a business or laboratory address, and we recommend one, because parcels left at a residential door are the most common cause of a loss claim.

2. When your order leaves us

Orders are prepared and dispatched on business days, Monday to Friday, excluding national holidays.

We do not commit to a dispatch interval and we publish no order-by time. We prepare orders in the sequence they are received and dispatch each one as soon as it is ready.

An order that needs an address or payment check is dispatched once that check clears.

3. Shipping charges

Shipping is calculated at checkout on the delivery address and the method you choose, and the exact charge is shown in the order summary before you pay. Where a free-shipping threshold is running, the qualifying amount and your progress toward it are shown in the cart.

Shipping charges are quoted separately from tax and are not refundable except where a return is caused by our error. See the Refunds and Returns page.

4. Carriers and tracking

We use established national carriers. Once your order is dispatched we send a shipping email with a tracking number and a link to the carrier.

Tracking is operated by the carrier, not by us. A tracking event can lag behind the parcel by several hours, and a scan is not a guarantee of delivery time.

5. Delivery estimates

Any delivery date shown at checkout or by a carrier is an estimate, not a promise. Weather, carrier backlogs, and address problems all delay parcels, and none of them are within our control.

We do not refund shipping charges for a delay caused by a carrier, and a delay is not by itself grounds to reject a delivery.

6. Packaging and what to do on arrival

Materials are supplied as lyophilized powder for reconstitution and are shipped at ambient temperature unless the product page says otherwise. Packaging is plain and carries no description of the contents beyond what shipping law requires.

Check your parcel on arrival against the packing note, and store every item as stated on the label and on its product page. Keep items in their original packaging with their original labeling.

7. Damaged, missing, or wrong items

Tell us within 7 days of the delivery date shown by the carrier if a parcel arrives damaged, if an item is missing, or if you were sent the wrong item. Keep the packaging and send photographs, because a carrier claim usually cannot be opened without them.

Where the error is ours, we replace the item or refund it in full, including the shipping charge, and we pay any return shipping.

8. Refused, undeliverable, and returned parcels

A parcel that is refused, that cannot be delivered because the address was wrong or incomplete, or that is returned to us unclaimed, is handled as a return.

Because we cannot verify how a research material was stored while it was out of our control, a returned parcel of this kind is refunded at our discretion, less the original shipping charge and any carrier fee. See the Refunds and Returns page for what can and cannot be returned.

9. Address changes and cancellation

Contact us as soon as possible if you need to change an address or cancel an order. We can usually help before the order is dispatched, and we cannot help after it has left the building. Once a parcel is with the carrier the change has to be made with the carrier.

10. Your responsibility on delivery

Risk passes to you on delivery. From that moment the safe storage, handling, labeling, and disposal of the material is your responsibility, as set out in the Research Use Only Disclaimer.

You are also responsible for confirming that a material is lawful for you to receive where you are. We may refuse to ship to a destination where we believe it is not.
